Description |
Painted wooden side chair. Chair splat is decorated with gold stencil design of acorns, oak leaves, and berries. In addition there are gold-stencilled downward facing arrows on stiles. The legs are turned and decorated with gold bands. Hand-woven rush seat made from the female leaf of the common cattail plant, Typhon latifolia. The leaves are woven directly to the frame. The chair, is a revival, made after the Hitchcock Chair Company was revived in 1948. |
